Ik na bhulla do na bhulle bhulya firda kul jahan;
Nami di pehchan koi nahin muhon ratti jande nan.
Man de aakhe lag ke buddhi puthi rah te pa baithe;
Gharh gharh ke but rang barange sau bhagwan bana baithe.
Jis ne sooraj chann banaye deep ohnun dikhlanda ey;
Khushbuan de malik agge ja ja dhooph dhukhanda ey.
Karam kand de nhere andar bilkul anha khata ey;
Us noon bhog lagana chahe jo har jee da dath eh.
Behadde asgahe noon eh valgan de vich val rihai;
Rab mlan de cha andar eh apne aap noo chal rihai.
Khyali mahal banai jandai eh supne diyan neehan te;
Kahe avtar tars kar data kul duniyan de jeean te.

Not one or two, but the entire world has gone astray;
They are repeating the Divine name without knowing the One for whom the name stands.
Swayed by the mind, their intellect has fallen in the wrong track;
By carving multi-coloured idols they have created hundreds of Gods.
Man shows the light to the One who has created the sun and the stars;
He burns incense before the One who is the creator of fragrances.
In the darkness of rites and rituals, it is absolute chaos;
Man wants to offer food to the One who Himself feeds every living being.
He is trying to put a boundary around the one who Himself is boundless and fathomless;
He is deluding himself in the false hope of realizing God.
He is building castles in the air on the foundations of dreams;
Avtar says, O’ God, have mercy on every human being in the world.

Meaning
It is not just one or two, but the whole world wanders in ignorance. Without knowing the Divine, people of the world are merely repeating and worshipping HIS name. They do this as they follow the ignorant and mundane mind, which has put them on a wrong and devious path. The ignorant beings have sculpted thousands of Gods in the form of numerous colourful idols. People are lighting lamps in front of the creator of Sun and Moon. They burn incense before the One who is the creator of all fragrances. In the darkness of these rites and rituals, there is a never ending trap. Man is nothing else but foolish to offer food to the Divine One who feeds the entire Universe. He is trying to confine the infinite omnipresent God into definite limits. He is fooling himself with the false hope of realizing God. Man is building castles in the air on the foundations of his false dreams. Avtar says, have mercy O' God on every soul in this world.
